Yahoo Search Submit Express FAQThe following questions are specific to the PrioritySubmit.com implementation of Search Submit.
General Search Submit Questions
Will I pay the $49 first URL fee if I have existing Inktomi Search Submit URLs? Search Submit is a new service and existing Inktomi submissions are not credited towards multiple URL discounts. The review fee for the first URL from any domain is charged at $49. Multiple URL discounts apply from the second URL. Can I transfer my existing Inktomi submissions to Search Submit? You can not transfer your Inktomi, AltaVista or FAST submissions to Search Submit. You may however re-submit your URLs to Search Submit, however the URLs will need to go through the review process and review fees will apply. Can I deposit for example $1000 to 100 new urls for clicks? PrioritySubmit manages each separate domain in a separate Search Submit account. If you have 100 URLs in the same domain, all will draw upon a single account balance to cover click fees. If you have 100 URLs with different domains, you will need to deposit $10 to each account. Note: You do not need to submit 100 separate orders as this can be done in batch in your Search Submit account administration section. Can I automatically renew my submissions or top up click balances? PrioritySubmit currently does not have automated billing or renew features. These will however be introduced later this month. How often are click statistics updated? Click statistics will be updated daily. How long does it take for my URLs to be reviewed for inclusion. We expect the URL review process to take up to 7 working days. Note: Reviews are done by Overture, not by PrioritySubmit staff. What is the minimum click account balance. When you initially place an order, you need to deposit a minimum balance of $50 per domain to cover the cost of clicks. Once your campaign has started, Search Submit will automatically calculate the click rate. The click rate is the average daily spend based on prior click history. This information is given in the Search Submit account section. You should maintain at least 7 days worth of clicks in your account. If the balance drops to below 3 days, your account will be suspended until additional funds are added. What happens if I have an unused click balance and I wish to cancel my account. Any outstanding click balances will be refunded when an account is closed. Can I transfer click balances between domains? Once deposited, click balances can not be transferred from one domain account to another. Any outstanding balance however, will be refunded when an account is closed. Can I change the URL once it is submitted? Yes you can change the submitted URL at any time during the subscription period, but the URL must be in the same domain. There are no additional fees for changing URLs. Note: Rejected URLs can not be changed. If my URL is rejected, will I get a refund? The review fee is NOT refundable so please check the content guidelines before submitting. Click balances, including the initial $50 click deposit are refundable when an account is closed. Note: Rejected URLs count towards multiple URL discounts. Subsequent URLs submitted for review will be charged at a discount rate. ($29 or $10 depending on the number of URLs in the account.) What is Search Submit? Search Submit, Overture's paid inclusion product, offers a very simple yet effective method for online businesses to be considered for inclusion in the main body of search results pages on multiple portals. By subscribing to Search Submit, your Web pages are reviewed for quality and submitted to a database that provides search results to Yahoo!, AltaVista, AlltheWeb, Overture and others. Your listings will be included in relevant search results, providing your business with a source of targeted customer leads. What are the benefits of using Search Submit? Search Submit offers many benefits, including:
How does Search Submit work? Here is how the Search Submit program works to drive targeted leads to your business:
Where are my listings displayed with Search Submit? Search Submit listings are displayed within the main body of search results pages. Should I use Search Submit if I also use Pay-for-Performance Search? Yes. Using both Search Submit and Pay-for-Performance Search will maximize your coverage on the search results page, enabling you to receive more customer leads. Because both Search Submit and Pay-for-Performance Search are billed to you on a cost-per-click basis, you pay only when a potential customer visits your Web site. (Please note that Search Submit subscribers also pay an annual subscription fee to cover ongoing review and frequent refreshes of their Web pages). How much does it cost to use Search Submit? Search Submit subscribers who submit fewer than 1,000 URLs pay an annual review fee, which breaks down as follows:
(Pricing tiers are based on the number of URLs per domain/host.) Subscribers then pay a fixed cost-per-click when a potential customer clicks on one of their listings (URLs). The fee is either 15 cents or 30 cents, depending upon the URL's content category:
For businesses that submit 1,000 URLs or more, a separate service 'Search Submit Xchange' is available.
With this service there is a cost-per-click cost, that depends on content category, but no inclusion or annual review fees. If you have more than 1000 URLs, you wish to submit, please contact us for more information.

What does Search Submit mean if I am currently a customer of the Inktomi Search Submit, AltaVista Express Inclusion, and/or FAST Partner Site PFI paid inclusion programs? Each of these "legacy" programs has been frozen when Search Submit launched. If legacy customers do not choose to migrate into the Search Submit program, they may remain in the legacy programs until their current subscriptions expire. No additions or changes are allowed to URLs in legacy programs, but customers may permanently remove URLs. Legacy Search Submit customers will receive a limited-time free trial of Yahoo! traffic through April 15, 2004. After that date, they will no longer receive distribution in Yahoo! Search results. Legacy AltaVista and FAST paid inclusion customers will not receive Yahoo! traffic and the distribution of their listings will not change as a result of the Search Submit launch. |
